Our Lesson Horses
Nearly all of our lesson horses are rescue/rehabs of some sort. Some came to us without training, some in massive amounts of pain, some aggressive and dangerous. All lesson horses are successful rehabs and have earned their privileges as teachers. They are a strong and varied group, but all love their work and are considerate of their riders.

About the Horses Part 1

Hudson
Hudson is the male herd leader and is privately owned by Lisa Wynne. He works hard day in and day out with Lisa to keep the herd (including the people) safe and healthy. He is ridden only by Lisa as that is their chance to kick back and relax, momentarily free from their responsibilities. This makes Hudson quite playful and unpredictable under saddle, but Lisa enjoys it.

As a horse-minded pony, Vegas is one of our most popular lesson horses. She loves teaching and is ideal for an intermediate or advanced rider because she is a "go" pony and likes to play when she does something exciting like a higher jump.
17 year old POA. 13.2hh. 170lb rider/tack combined weight limit. Rides dressage and hunter/jumper, trail rides, jumping 2' currently. Was rehabbed from a broken tail by HHIA in summer 2017 with little to no residual scar tissue.
Excellent ground manners, very affectionate, emotionally steady and has not spooked since acquisition for rehab in June 2017.

Rescued in August 2018 as an untrained, frightened and defensive 10 year old, Scarlett is now one of our sweetest horses. She is very tactile and training quickly and easily for riding. She came to us in poor health resulting from neglect and poor diet, but is making drastic improvements in internal health. We are enjoying watching her excel in her training.

Scarlett
Ace is our "efficiency expert" meaning he only does as much as he has to. He is beginner safe and will protect his riders from falling whenever he can. He also knows more advanced dressage and jumps to 2 feet. He is a 26 year old Government Morgan and as sweet as they come. He happily stays at the bottom of the herd hierarchy, regardless of the horses on site.
