Horse Training Mini-Series -
Come learn about the IDT™ Method of horse training with each mini-series featuring a different horse (see featured horses below) with different backgrounds and challenges. The horse's progress will determine how much of a hands-on class this can be. The first session in each series will primarily be observation, but following sessions will allow for more handling by students. While each class could be attended individually, it is recommended that an entire series be attended so as to not miss any details. This class is 60 minutes and is limited to 10 people. Cost is $40 per attendee. This class is open to HHIA students and non-students.

Scarlett is a 14 year old rescue who came from a neglect situation. She was aggressive upon arrival, but now sees people as her herd members. She was ready for a saddle when all training stopped because her trainer had a baby. We are ready to start her again. She only needs a refresher on the IDT™ Method, making her an ideal candidate for students to learn with.

Pistol is a privately owned 20 year old Quarter Horse who returned to HHIA last year after 4 years away at a family farm. In his time away, he was idle and lost his mother to old age. He became aggressive, which triggered his return to HHIA, specifically for training in the IDT™ Method.

Ana is a 16 year old Morgan trained before HHIA's trainer knew the IDT™ Method. Ana was an active lesson horse, but had an accident with a rider several years ago that resulted in a complete lack of confidence for Ana. She is rideable, but only by a 100% confident rider. She needs to be retrained, this time, using the IDT™ Method to help her feel safe and secure even when her rider doesn't feel that way.

Basilone is a privately owned 11 year old Morgan who was a NICU horse. He came in with a friend who did not make it out of the NICU. Basilone was traumatized from that moment on. He fostered with HHIA's trainer when he was 5 years old. After training, he was rehomed to an HHIA farm member. Life circumstances left her unable to work with him regularly and due to his sensitive mind, he needs a major refresher on the IDT™ Method.
